Is SEO really so important?
When in comes to spending money, especially if we’re a small business on a limited budget, we like to know that its money well spent. Many have asked whether spending on SEO is really necessary – well the short answer is a resounding YES. Now allow me to explain why.
- Visibility: a person browsing on google may not be able to see your website, which means missing out on a potential client. So yes, you have a good product/service but your invisible to the consumer
- User experience (UX): the consumer has found your website, however, the site is poorly displayed or the speed is too slow. It’s very possible that he will move on in search for a competitor that is offering a better UX. The longer a customer stays on your webiste, the more likely it is that he will purchase your product. In addition, longer time spent (engagement time) resonates well in the eyes of google, resulting in a higher ranking.
- Trust: so the site looks good and the product/service is well-priced. However, this potential customer is concerned that you are not as reputable as you portray yourself to be. Why? Becasue you don’t rank as high as your competitors, but having a healthy ranking is a vote of confidence from google that your service can be relied upon.
In conclusion, eventhough it’s true to say that it will cost you to hire an SEO expert to audit your site and pay a monthly fee to increase your rankings etc, however, your opportunity to attract so many new clients, supersedes and truly justifies the alternative.
