Did AI kill SEO?

In recent years, there has been a lot of hype about AI development and how it has revolutionised the way we research data and services. Data shows that over 70% of people are searching for products/services etc. via AI platforms.

Many have wondered how this has affected SEO, with many claiming that the traditional-style SEO is obsolete.Allow me to explain the way AI has impacted the SEO world and hopefully with this understanding you will realise that in fact these claims are inaccurate.SEO focuses, primarily, on increasing a service’s rankings on a search engine, such as Google.

Traditional SEO is achieved by optimizing numerous elements – on page SEO (such as user experience and keyword optimisation), offpage SEO - other websites referencing your website, which is essentially a vote of confidence, and many other factors and strategies.

AI, on the other hand, is just offering an additional layer – recommendations from social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook etc. It will take this ALSO into consideration when deciding on which service it will recommend. The big keyword here is ALSO.AI is not being used to make decisions in isolation, but rather it’s foundation is based on data that has been established through SEO.

To summarise very briefly, SEO traditional method is still the basic level, AI just introduced an additional layer to the process.
